The Bow Belles

Based in Bow, East London
The Bow Belles Three-bedroom Victorian Terrace (2024) Bow, East London

If you meander through the back streets of Bow you will find yourself amongst the charming Victorian Terraces surrounding Victoria Park. There lives a bright young family, whose 3-bed home required reshaping from top to bottom.

They approached us to design a calming retreat, giving the home a full make-over and extension upwards. Alongside the architects, we got to work crafting new spaces and reinvigorating the old, by layering contemporary design elements alongside classic architectural features. We created a serene backdrop layered with pops of vital colour to energise as well as relax family life.

New joinery was installed throughout, including a bespoke kitchen designed by us and thoughtfully crafted by master furniture maker and long time collaborator Daniel Bradley. Every last detail was considered with ultimate functionality in mind for the passionate resident chef. The reconfigured lower ground floor layout will now play host to lively gatherings with family and friends, becoming the site of lasting memories.

As you make your way upstairs, the house boasts a new mansard roof extension, cleverly laid out to maximise space, with views from the bath out over the rooftops of London.

We brought the family’s personality to the fore with a curation of vintage and contemporary furniture, without cluttering a busy family home and leaving room to keep adding to the story.

This resulting home proves tranquility and vibrancy can co-exist in an unexpected way to provide a welcome parkside respite from the bustle of East London.
